Debora and Luigi have match their skills:  she had been engaged for years in the family winery, he is a company manager. They, together, have a common project that cannot be disjoined from tradition and that looks forwards to the future.  Moreover, this is a near future considering that their three children have always breathed the air of the vineyards, they know the earth and, above all, they are eyewitnesses to their parents’ hard work and sacrifice.

Purchase of the company: June


After a short rental period, in which the existing vineyard was resumed, the purchase of the company was formalized in June 2016.

First harvest: September


The first harvest, done by hands and in boxes, yielded 40 quintals per hectare, and allowed us to obtain our first label, the Cubburo 2016, a blend of Nero d'Avola and Syrah barreled for almost 12 months in French barriques. During the same harvest we started the conversion to organic.

Organic crop system certification: May


Three years after the conversion period, organic certification was obtained.

Building restoration: January


The renovation of the eighteenth-century building has been started and is well underway. At the end of it, we will get the cellar, the tasting room and six de-luxe rooms for guests.

The  property is located in contrada Giddio, near Naro, and measures, as a total, 13 hectares, 7 of which planted in Nero d’Avola and Syrah, about other 4 hectares planted in Grillo, while the rest will be planted in the coming years.
The vineyards are at an altitude between 350 and 450 meters above sea level. The estate presents a “baglio”, a old building containing the courtyard or courtyard. Its original structure dates back to the 18th century and is about 900 square meters in size. Another asset of the place is the lake, used for irrigation, that occupies about half a hectare.
The winery is located within the path of the Road of Wine and Flavors of the Valley of the Temples, in the area renowned for growing some of the best Nero d’Avola and Grillo in Sicily.

She is the head and heart of the winery, has over twenty years of experience in the field of viticulture and agronomy. This experience has enabled her to develop the skills needed for the management of a winery. From the vineyard to the cellar, she follows all the stages of the production process, side by side with the winemaker.

He has a great managerial experience and today he is the CEO of a corporate consultancy company. His high competence in management and corporate governance, over 25-years long, allows him to fully master his role and give the right boost to the development of the winery.
